The rooms were clean and basic also comfortable, we slept well. The bathroom was clean and a little bigger than usual. We didn't have food here. It looks as if it's all being refurbished and it looks lovely The bar was always a bit busy with locals,( who were very welcoming ) and residents alike. Some were on the pool table, others played darts. The staff were helpful and friendly and even stored our cases for a few hours before we left. We would happily go back here. It is just a stones throw from the railway station plus it is within easy walking distance to the lake and around the town. 👍🏻Posted on Nessa Noo DavisonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Stayed here for 2 nights and I was super impressed. The lovely lady who checked me in was very helpful with local knowledge. Barnew and his staff played pool with me and I was made feel very welcome will definitely stay again 😁 thank you 😊Posted on Mark GreenhalghTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Suited me for it's location and good pricePosted on ChrisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Hotel seemed a little rough. Room had not been cleaned, bedding was dirty and old beer glasses were left in the room. No one was avaliable when we tried to contact them. We decided to drive an hour to another hotel rather than stay.Posted on ravi RadTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I wouldn’t even give this hotel one star. The bed creaked constantly whenever I moved, making it impossible to sleep. The sound insulation is extremely poor — I could clearly hear snoring from the next room throughout the night. The bathroom was uncomfortably small, with barely enough space to stand properly. Based on the experience, I would value this hotel at no more than £10 per night.Posted on o mirzaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Room was absolutely freezing cold, the radiators don't work, the beds are old and the springs creaked and moaned with ever bit of movement. Shower was very small had to squeeze into it. Walls are very thin you can hear everything in adjacent room. The provided wifi kept dropping. I slept 2 floors up and could hear the bar music downstairs (wasn't very loud when you're downstairs either). There was no soap provided and no iron in the rooms. AVOIDPosted on sophiaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fine room. Had to provide my own soap (you can ask at reception but i had bought some with me anyway). Wardrobe was a bit flimsy and falling apart. Bed was clean and comfy, kettle and tea making things provided. Breakfast was nice. There were noisey guests that arrived at 2am which i could hear quite well but oh well.Load more
A little rough around the edges, but for the price you really can not have any complaints! Clean, comfortable bed, small bathroom ensuite – and lovely staff. Breakfast was also tasty and set us up for the day!
For a place to crash when exploring the local area, this is perfect – as long as you won’t be put off by the odd scrape and scratch here and there in the rooms!
